🚀 HIRING: Home Depot hopes 25% of it’s new employees are found through ‘speed hiring’. Umm, that already exists, it’s called hiring freelancers.
In good news though (I think?), U.S. economy added 467,000 jobs in January.
💩 ECONOMY: Only 28% of Americans think the economy is in good shape according to Pew Research Center. As leaders, can this be an opportunity to protect and empower those around you?
💩💩 DISCONNECT! While 👆👆👆, Fed chief Jerome Powell thinks the economy is "tremendously strong".
Wth is going on? This might partly explain:
INFLATION: Everyday items are now like airline tickets, adjusting "frequently within hours or days." Who cares? It’s increased pain for small businesses, since customer loyalty gives way to large companies that can adjust price.
GREAT RESIGNATION: Talent acquisition and retention is leading challenge for Executives according to PWC survey.
While this created a jump in wages/bonuses, less than a third of Executives say they’re committed to keeping increased pay beyond the usual review cycle according to a Forbes article by Jena McGregor.

💻 REMOTE: Over two-thirds of LinkedIn members are searching for remote-only jobs, while 362% growth in LinkedIn posts about flexibility over the last two years.
👊 Entrepreneurship is on the rise, as 43% of Americans plan to start a business this year. Even more interesting, these new companies look different:
32% said their business will operate solely online
45% said their business will be hybrid
🤔 4 Day Work Week: Research out of Iceland shows that a 4 day work week leads to workers feeling more energized and less stressed. Studies by Microsoft and additional reputable firms support these results, but is reduced hours the only way to help your teams?
